At Dialogue, we believe that the happiness of our team is of fundamental importance. On World Mental Health Day, we feel it’s important to do our bit to help spread the message.
Are you, as an individual, looking out for your own wellbeing in the workplace? If you’re not being encouraged to take regular breaks, or to communicate with your colleagues, why not? What positive change can you make today?
Also, if you have a friend or a family member who you know is having difficulties with their mental health, reach out to them. The organisation Time to Change, which seeks to confront taboos relating to mental health, is using the hashtag #asktwice – because many people find it difficult to open up about their problems, if you only ask them once they’re more likely to just say “I’m fine”. But ask them again, and you might just help them to vocalise something that they have been internalising for too long.
