Dialogue has just pressed print on a very special edition of the official Royal Ascot magazine
2016 sees a landmark birthday for Her Majesty The Queen, who celebrates turning 90 this year. This, of course, means a celebratory edition of the magazine that goes along with the Royal Meeting, held at Ascot Racecourse 14-18 June.
To commemorate The Queen’s 90th year, the official Royal Ascot magazine is peppered with articles to celebrate her visits to Ascot racecourse, including HRH The Princess Royal talking us through The Queen’s impressive 22 Royal Ascot winners, a gallery of The Queen’s outfits at the Royal Meeting over the years and a look back at The Queen’s reign over the last 64 years.
Turning our attention trackside, the magazine features tributes to jockey Pat Eddery and commentator Sir Peter O’Sullevan, both legends of the racing world. We pay a visit to world-class racehorse rehabilitation centre, Longholes, in Newmarket and discover the sensational work they do. There’s an interview with the man Sir AP McCoy called “the world’s greatest jockey”, Ryan Moore, and we chart the Royal Meeting’s illustrious history, which stretches back more than 300 years.
However, everyone knows Royal Ascot isn’t just about the racing – there’s fashion and fine dining to enjoy, too. Interviews with fashion designer Suzannah, and milliners Edwina Ibbotson and William Chambers reveal how the Royal Meeting inspires their designs, while you can also find out how Ascot’s work with the CASS Sculpture Foundation has brought fine sculptures to the racecourse.
Raymond Blanc shares his plans for the Panoramic Restaurant as he takes the helm for 2016 and you can discover how Royal Ascot, Sodexo and British Fine Foods have raised the bar when it comes to its picnics this year.
With so much to enjoy both on and away from the track, and a record £6.58 million in prize money at stake, the Royal Ascot magazine is perfect to get you even more excited about the highlight of the British racing calendar.
