Dialogue’s Head of Digital Marketing, Alan Dykes, spoke about the importance of content, strategy, consistency and planning at a Marketing Masterclass organised by EDP Business on Wednesday 9th November 2016.
The Masterclass, which took place at The Forum, Norwich, included talks on how to get good PR Coverage by Hayley Mace, Head of Communications at New Anglia LEP, Social Media by Amanda Bunn of Media Managers and Traditional Media as part of the Marketing Mix by Clive by Clive White, also of Media Managers.
Alan’s presentation focused on applying proven marketing techniques to the digital space, including using the A.I.D.A. (Awareness, Interest, Desire, Action) model to sense-check what your goals are for a digital campaign, be it social media, advertising or PR.
He also spoke about the importance of maintaining a human touch in your digital activities, even as you become more data focused, and introduced an adaptation of another standard model, the S.M.A.R.T. checklist, to ensure that your digital activities match your overall marketing strategy. Giving marketers the tools to question, retain control of and align digital activities with the rest of their communications.
