Dialogue joins Nelson’s Journey for Twenty20 campaign

Archant Dialogue is proud to become one of 20 companies to join a fundraising effort for children’s charity Nelson’s Journey.

Norfolk-based charity Nelson’s Journey supports local children who have experienced the death of a significant person. It is now celebrating its 20th anniversary, and to mark the occasion it has recruited 20 local businesses to its Twenty20 campaign.

The aim is for each business to raise £1,000. The total, £20,000, will pay for a Child Bereavement Support Worker for one year, which could help up to 100 children cope with their loss.

Support from Nelson’s Journey

The charity is the only specialist child bereavement support organisation in Norfolk. So far this year it has received more than 800 referrals, a figure predicted to reach 1,000 by the end of 2017. This is the charity’s highest ever referral rate.

The charity helps children by teaching them coping methods, running youth groups, and holding residentials, where children get to meet other others going through a similar experience. Nelson’s Journey also works with the rest of the family in one-to-one sessions and in parents and carers groups.

Fundraising initiative nelsons-journey-2

Archant Dialogue is proud to be one of the 20 companies supporting Nelson’s Journey for its anniversary. We plan to beat the £1,000 total by dividing into four fundraising groups, each with their own £1,000 target. The groups will soon meet to discuss tactics and ideas for the next 12 months.
